Carla Guagliardi and Ayrson Heráclito participate in “To Heal/Curar”

(Lisbon, Portugal)

‘To Heal/Curar’ presents works by five international artists: Gabriel Chaile, an Argentine artist based in Lisbon, Algerian-French painter Dalila Dalléas Bouzar, Nigerian Andrew Esiebo, and Brazilian artists Carla Guagliardi and Ayrson Heráclito. The exhibition is opened until February 23rd, 2023, at Hangar, in Lisbon, Portugal.

The group show is an imaginary offering that encourages well-being, articulating an impulse to cure the numerous ills of our time. Using allegories, rituals and visual poetics, the artists convey multiple systems of knowledge, emphasizing balance over anxiety, building hope over despair and positive action against the worsening climate.

Through photography, site-specific sculptures, video, and a recently commissioned performance and collective activations, the works are subtle stimuli aimed at alleviating the effects of current manifestations of violence, advancing human beings’ ability to rebuild from the ashes.
