Gabriela Noujaim and more twelve South American artists celebrate the Bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil

(Buenos Aires, Argentina)

The work of thirteen artists from Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia and Paraguay who during the pandemic came together to create pieces that discuss their production in that period of isolation, and through digital platforms, will be inaugurated on September 16, 2022, in two spaces, the Cultural Space of the Pereda Palace – Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires –, and in El Obrador Centro Creativo, for the Bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil.

Until December 15, the exhibition, “Territories in Polyphony” presents 27 works that express a commonplace in pandemic narratives: the notion that the perception of time and space has changed, said curator Mariana Rodríguez Iglesias. In addition to this sensation, “the artists, among whom are the Brazilians Tina Velho and Ileana Hochmann , the Argentines Carla Beretta and Rita Simoni , Bettina Brizuela from Paraguay and Nadine Holguín Urrego from Colombia, show with their artistic procedures that they also changed the perception of one’s own body, of the domestic, of close ties and of the way of producing works”. Alongside these artists, Silvia Brewda, Alejandra Delgado Uría, María Emilia Marroquín, Ariela Naftal, Gabriela Noujaim, Rut Rubinson and Milagro Torreblanca participate in the group show.
