Glicéria Tupinambá will represent Brazil at the 2024 Venice Biennale

Glicéria Tupinambá, one of the Awarded Artists of PIPA 2023, will represent Brazil at the 2024 Venice Biennale. The exhibition, titled “Ka’a Pûera: nós somos pássaros que andam” (“Ka’a Pûera: We are Walking Birds”), will be curated by Arissana Pataxó, Denilson Baniwa, and Gustavo Caboco Wapichana, who have also participated in different PIPA Prize editions. Pataxó was one of the winners of PIPA Online 2016, Baniwa was the winner of PIPA Online 2019 and Selected Artist in 2021, and Caboco was participant in 2022 and 2023. It opens in Italy on April 20, 2024.

The curator of the Venice Biennale is the Brazilian Adriano Pedrosa, director of Museu de Arte de São Paulo. He focuses this edtion, named “Foreigners Everywhere”, on outsiders, foreigners, and on artists who have traveled at various points in their careers.
