Jonathas de Andrade thinks Olympic impacts on “Le syndicat des Olympiades”

La galerie CAC Noisy-le-sec
1 Rue Jean Jaurès, 93130 Noisy-le-Sec
June 1st to November 30th

In the context of La Métropolitaine, an international contemporary art event in the Greater Paris Metropolis, in collaboration with TRAM, the Paris / Île-de-France contemporary art network, and at the invitation of La Galerie, the national contemporary art center of Noisy-le-Sec, Jonathas de Andrade presents “Le syndicat des Olympiades” an inclusive and participatory project carried out with associations from Noisy-le-Sec.

Jonathas de Andrade uses photography, video, and performance to question the architectural, social, and cultural impact of the Olympic Games, considering the full diversity of the landscapes and people who inhabit and shape this territory daily.

During the exhibition period, La Galerie’s building becomes the headquarters of this extraordinary union, hosting a collection of works (photographic portraits, films, architectural models, objects, etc.) created for the occasion, which make visible and highlight the inhabitants of the suburbs, as well as sports enthusiasts from varied social backgrounds and diverse ages.
