Adriano Machado. Born in Feira de Santana, lives between his hometown and Alagoinhas-BA. He has a PhD in Visual Arts from UFBA and develops artistic projects in photography, video and objects that seek to discuss questions about identity, territory, memory, silence and trust; investigating processes of life politics. His works point to the human condition between spaces of coexistence and afro-inventive territories. He has participated in exhibitions such as Dakar Biennale 2022 (Senegal) together with the Intervalo Collective; 31st CCSP Exhibition Program (São Paulo, 2021); Valongo International Image Festival (Santos, 2019. Nominated for PIPA Award 2021; received Acquisition Award at Circuito de Arte latinoamericano (Porto Alegre, 2022); Bahia Visual Arts Salons Award (2013) and special mentions (2014 and 2011); Funarte Artistic Residencies Award (2019). He has held artist residencies at Latitude Artist Residence (Chicago,USA, 2022); Pivô Pesquisa (São Paulo, 2020); Fluxos: South Atlantic Collections (Salvador, 2019) and VerdeVEZ, in Campo arte contemporânea (Teresina, 2019).
