Ana Avelar is a professor of Theory, Criticism and Art History at the University of Brasília (UnB). She was a curator at Casa Niemeyer [Niemeyer House] between 2017 and 2021 and curated shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art at the University of São Paulo (MAC / USP) and at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center in Belo Horizonte (CCBB-BH), among others. She integrates juries of national award, such as Marcantonio Vilaça – of which he was a finalist in 2017 -, Pipa and Rumos Itaú Cultural. In 2019, she won the Curators Exchange Program, promoted by the Brazilian Contemporary Art Association – ABACT in partnership with the Getty Research Institute.
