Ana Avelar is curator of Casa Niemeyer and professor of Theory, Criticism and Art History at the University of Brasília (UnB). She curated shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art at the University of São Paulo (MAC / USP) and Banco do Brasil Cultural Center in Belo Horizonte (CCBB-BH), among others. Participates in juries of national awards, such as Marcantonio Vilaça – of which she was a finalist in 2017 -, Pipa and Rumos Itaú Cultural. In 2019, she won the Curators Exchange Program, promoted by the Brazilian Contemporary Art Association – ABACT in partnership with the Getty Research Institute.
