Painting and drawing are the starting points for Ana Almeida’s work. Through them, she creates surfaces that, among their multiple possibilities, show layers that reveal the performance of extended time or climate. They apprehend solidity, fluidity and what is between them; announce by blocks of colour and lines an agile time in making or even allow themselves to be modified by the use of moving images superimposed in themselves. Abstract landscapes from the presence and our affection for rivers in cities guide many of these formal developments, welcoming the artist’s interest in the study of narratives and materialities.
