Aruan Braga is director of the Observatório de Favelas, NGO based in the Maré, biggest favela complex in Rio. Bachelor Social Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IFCS / UFRJ) with a complete pedagogy degree in Sociology (FE / UFRJ). Master degree in Public Policies, Strategies and Development Program (IE / UFRJ). Served as project manager at the Municipal Institute of Urbanism Pereira Passos, of the City of Rio de Janeiro (IPP / PCRJ), and also as a consultant to the United Nations (UN) for the UPPSocial Program.
