Beatriz Lemos is a curator and researcher specialized in network articulations. She is the founder of the Lastro- intercâmbios livres em arte research platform. Master in Social History of Culture (PUC-RJ). In collaboration with MAM RJ, she carried out the cataloging of the work and documents of Márcia X (1959-2005), which, in 2013, resulted in the monographic exhibition of the artist and the launch of the raisonné catalog. Between 2015/2016, she was part of the Visitor Curator programme of the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage (RJ), which led to the creation of their Library and Documentation and Research Center.
In 2015, as part of the 10-year celebration of the Lastro network, she conducted a research project in Central America, traveling with 15 Brazilian artists and curators, to Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico, the results went on display at Sesc Consolação (SP ) in 2016. In 2017, she became a member of the 20th Contemporary Art Festival – Sesc / Videobrasil curatorial jury, and also completed the Lastro autonomous residency in Bolivia with 10 brazilian artists. From January to March of 2018, their exhibition went on display at the Sesc Bom Retiro (SP).
Currently, she is taking participating courses and workshops about anti colonial processes in Brazil and Latin America and coordinates the Lastro study group, that meets up weekly at Casa 1 (SP).
