PIPA 2019 nominee.

Hello, my name is Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro. I’m an artist, psychology student and macumba practicer. I live in Vitória, Brazil. I work wherever is possible. My creative process is an incorporation experience. I understand my black testicled feminine body, as a place of memory and use myself in order to produce perishable freedoms. I’m interested in keeping myself alive, and for that, I convoke art as the mechanism capable of forging survival possibilities. My production is placed at an epistemic crossroads, from where I see many escape routes from coloniality. I run away with my flower-body, for the geographic and existential territories that forbid me of getting in. I do that alongside photography, video, watercolour painting, texts, objects, prosthetics. I also make use of the collecting practice and, along with the other languages I create installation experiences.
