Artist-researcher, Phd student in Art, Subject and City and holds a master’s degree in Art and Contemporary Culture from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. In his works, he seeks to articulate issues pertinent to the theme of housing in the context of contemporary cities, focusing on the problems inherent to the logics of gentrification that underpin the centre-periphery binomial. His doctoral research is financed by the Faperj DSC scholarship and his master’s research was financed by the Capes/DS and Faperj Nota 10 scholarships, respectively. He participated in the Contemporary Art Practices Program at Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage (2015); the FAAP Art Residency Program (2016), the Art Residency Program at Centro Municipal de Arte Hélio Oiticica (2019) and the Residency NUVEM – Estação Rural de Arte e Tecnologia (2016), among others. He was awarded the Funarte Respirarte Prize (2020), the Leonello Berti Prize (2019), the Acquisition Prize at the 15th Jataí Art Salon (2016) and the Acquisition Prize at the 42nd Luiz Sacilotto Contemporary Art Salon (Santo André, 2014). He held the solo exhibitions “Azenha” (Museu de Arte de Ribeirão Preto, 2020), “Em Torno” (Centro Municipal de Artes Hélio Oiticica, Rio de Janeiro, 2019), “Montparnasse, Vingt Ans Après” (Galeria Ibeu, Rio de Janeiro, 2019), “Impróprio” (Centro Municipal de Artes Hélio Oiticica, Rio de Janeiro, 2018) and “Devir Cidade” (Centro Cultural Justiça Federal, Rio de Janeiro, 2017). Among the group exhibitions, the following stand out: “Casa Carioca” (Rio Art Museum, 2020), “São Paulo não é uma Cidade” (Sesc 24 de Maio, São Paulo, 2017), “II Bienal Caixa de Novos Artistas” (Caixa Cultural – itinerancy, 2016 – 2018) and “Processos e Deslocamentos” (MAB – FAAP, São Paulo, 2016). His work is part of the collection of the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro (Joaquim Paiva Collection, RJ), Museu de Arte de Ribeirão Preto (SP), Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Jataí (GO), MAB-FAAP (SP), and the Municipality of Santo André (SP).
