Born in Ilhota, Brazil, 1980.
Lives and works in Porto, Portugal.
The research of Aline Dias finds its way through installations, photographs, publications, and other media, always incorporating the instability of the materials/procedures, and inquiring strategies that regard the exhibition, duration, and visibility of works inside the institutional context. Currently a PhD candidate in Contemporary Art at Universidade de Coimbra, with scholarship from the Brazilian institution Capes, she has developed her master’s degree in Visual Poetics at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, and her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina.
Beyond the academic research, she also develops projects that commingle the artistic production with other activities, such as publications, texts, curatorial practices, and movies.

She coordinated the cultural schedule, editorial projects, production of exhibitions, and participated in research, curatorship, educational projects, as well as other technical-managerial activities of the Museu Victor Meirelles, Ibram, Florianópolis (2003-2007; 2009-2010).
Dias is also a member of Corpo Editorial, an independent publishing house focused on printing artists’ publications, since 2009. Her work is in the collections of Museu de Arte de Santa Catarina, Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Ceará, and the Sociedade Cultura Artistica de Jaraguá do Sul.
