Alexandre Vogler has developed, for the past 15 years, works in the public context and communication systems, individually and within artistic groups. Vogler is a professor at the Art Institute of the State University of Rio de Janeiro and has a Master’s degree in Visual Languages (School of Fine Arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro). Vogler organised the group Atrocidades Maravilhosas in 2000. He directed the short-film “Base para Unhas Fracas” (2011), and directed the show “Aplique de Carne” (2013).

Has recently participated in the group exhibitions: X Mercosul Biennial (2015), “Capacete” (Portikus, Frankfurt, Germany, 2013); “RUA” (MUKA, Antwerp, Belgium, 2011), “Flying Down to Earth” (MARCO, Vigo, Spain, 2010); X Havana Biennial (Cuba, 2009). Recent solo exhibitions include: “Base / Tridente NI” (Cultural Centre São Paulo, Brazil, 2009) and “Abre Caminho” (A Gentil Carioca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2007). Worked as an artist in residence at the city of Porto, Portugal in 2000 and at Flat Residency in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in 2011.
