Fabio Zimbres, also known as FZ, studied Architecture and graduated in Arts. Zimbres is a graphic designer, organizes exhibitions, paints, makes comics and illustrations. He was one of the founders of the magazine ‘Animal’, and was an editor in the same until its last publication in 1991.
The artist has produced many comics in Brazilian, foreign, and independent publications. He was also an editor for books in Latin America and Spain. Zimbres is the creator and editor of Tonto Editions and had published small books by many independent Brazilian illustrators and Latin American Artists in the Mini Tonto Collection. In 2006, published the book ‘Música para Antropomorfos’, the graphic design novel that comes with it, served as inspiration and was inspired by the CD by the rock band Mechanics.
Zimbres has had solo exhibitions at Adesivo Gallery and Museum do Trabalho, in Porto Alegre, Centro Cultural Recoleta, in Buenos Aires, and Design Festa Gallery, in Tokyo.
Along with southern artists Eduardo Haesbaert and Gelson Radaelli, Zimbres still is part of the project Casa do Desenho, a series of group shows that have exhibited in two cities and is still active.
