Fernanda Figueiredo and Eduardo Mattos worked as a collaborative duo from 2005 to 2015. Fernanda Figueiredo graduated in Fine Arts at FAAP in 2005 and Eduardo Mattos at FAAP Film School in 1999.
Among the most important group exhibitions are the 14th Salão da Bahia at MAM in 2008, Novas Aquisições at MAM – Rio de Janeiro in 2010, Jogos de Guerra at Caixa Cultural Rio de Janeiro in 2011 and the 64th Salão de Abril, Fortaleza in 2013. In 2014, they held the solo exhibition Tempo e deslocamento at Museu de Arte de Blumenau, and in 2015 the first international individual exhibition, Betrug, Fehler und Science Fiction at Tête in Berlin.
Together they received awards granted by the Ministry of Culture of Brazil such as the Programa de Difusão Cultural e Intercâmbio in 2013, Rede Nacional Funarte Artes Visuais and Conexão Cultura Brasil, both in 2014. They also took part in the artist residencies Fire Station Artists’ Studios in Ireland in 2013, and Picture Berlin in Germany in 2012.
From 2015 to the present day, they live and work in Berlin. During this period, then following separated solo careers, Fernanda Figueiredo exhibited at institutions such as Galerie im Körnerpark and Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin; she also received awards such as Goldrausch Künstlerinnenprojekt Stipendium from the Berlin Senate in 2017, and Jakob und Emma Windler-Stiftung for an artist residency in Switzerland in 2021. Eduardo Mattos completed 2016 his Master in Film Directing at the Met Film School Berlin. In the same year, he wrote and directed the short film Noturno selected at 49 festivals and awarded in Europe, America, and Asia. In 2020, he produced and directed the short film Do you like poetry? awarded for best Latin American film at the San Antonio Independent Film Festival and best international film at the Mikro FAF.
