In 2003, Laura Lima together with the artists Ernesto Neto and Marcio Botner founded the gallery A Gentil Carioca in Rio de Janeiro. She was also the first Brazilian artist who has works in the Performance category bought in Brazil by the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art, in 2000.
