Graphic designer since 1982, began his career in visual arts in the early ’90s, when he begins to attend a group under the supervision of the visual artist Luis Ernesto.
Currently working in the collective studio of the Espaço Durex, Mauro Espíndola incorporates video and drawing as fundamental aspects in his artwork. The former has enabled the enjoyment of the concepts developed so far through the moving image, with visibility of his production in countries like Poland, Portugal and France. Whilst, the latter is adding representations on the erotic plan and adds an extra touch of eccentricity to the peculiar universe poetic of the artist.
This experience with the group results in some collective exhibitions and the artist’s first solo show, titled Cor e Coreografia, which investigates the pictorial possibilities of fusion between the expressions of colour and choreographic movement. Soon after, he attended free studio of the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, under the supervision of the artists Luiz Aquila and Alair Gomes. He is awarded in the II Arts Salon from UFRJ and participates in the XVI Salon Carioca of Art.
