Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1972.
Lives and works in Petropolis, Brazil.
Michel Groisman develops a work that integrates visual art and corporal games, devises equipment to be used with the body in various performances, group games and for interactive purposes with the public.
Michel started to devise corporal equipments during the time he attended the Music College, where he graduated as music teacher. It was at this time that he discovered that himself could invent new instruments, and that those instruments do not needed to be musical. They could be tools or something he called equipments, that would serve for a self investigation and to interaction with others.
The interdisciplinary nature of his work has earned his art research scholarships from several institutions, including Rioarte (2004), Vitae (2002) and Uniarte da Faperj (2000).
