Rubiane Maia is a artist working in the intersection between performance art, installation and video. She graduated Visual Arts with a Master on Institutional Psychology at Federal University of Espirito Santo, Brazil. In her line of work, the artist aims to deal with everything that is fragile, vulnerable and even insurmountable, being attracted by different stages of balance-unbalance, capable of sparking a delicate, unstable and ephemeral nature of human existence.

In the past years, Rubiane has taken part in several meetings, festivals and residencies in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, France, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ireland. And also in the 9th Kaunas Biennial UNITEXT in Lithuania. In 2016, the artist dedicated herself to the project “Preparação para Exercício Aéreo, o Deserto e a Montanha”, travelling through places of high altitude like Uyuni (Bolivia), Pico da Bandeira (Espírito Santo, Brazil) e Monte Roraima (Roraima, Brazil). She is also producing her second short film, “Ádito”, to be released soon.
