Caio Reisewitz is widely recognised for his large-scale photographs portraying Brazilian subjects. His compositions depict landscapes, urban spaces and architectural landmarks, from the colonial period to 20th century Modernism, and the effect of economic growth in the same periods. Reisewitz captures the changing relationship of the countryside vs.; specifically, he captures the effect and imposition of economic development and human intervention in an utopian, distorted reality. In his smaller works, the artist constructs playful collages with the intention of causing an unexpected effect on the viewer.
