Marcio Botner is graduated in Cultural Marketing from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing, in 2000.
He took courses in drawing and painting with Umberto França and Luciano Maurício between 1985 and 1991. Studies in the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, Rio, de 1991-94.
Courses of painting with Anna Bella Geiger, Beatriz Milhazes, Charles Watson, Daniel Senise, Katie Van Sherpenberg, Luiz Ernesto, Milton Machado and Ronaldo Macedo. Design and engraving with Gianguido Bonfanti. Color theory with José Maria Dias da Cruz and philosophy with Fernando Cocchiarele.
He has founded the gallery A Gentil Carioca together with the artists Ernesto Neto, Franklin Cassaro and Laura Lima, in 2003 and he is teacher at Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, Rio, since 2004.
Marcio Botner together with Pedro Agilson have formed the duo botner & pedro in 2003.
