Since their formation in 2001, the group has been working specifically in the field of performance art, and more recently with the creation of video, animation and photography derived from performance actions. In its trajectory, EmpreZa has participated in several meetings of collectives, art residencies and in national and international exhibitions. The Group believes in art as a vehicle for a political expression potentially transformative, that art transforms because art “moves”.

Grupo EmpreZa was formed in 2001 in the Goiania, Brazil. The Group believes in art as a vehicle for a political expression potentially transformative, that art transforms because art “moves”. Art has what the ancient Romans called movere, which is the ability to move people. If art moves, that is because it is a power and power transforms. In this case, the transforming movement occurs earlier, inside the mind, inside the spirit, as “commotion”. Art has the power to co-move, to make the spirits co-move (to move together). The movements of the spirit, of course, appears later, in the movements of the bodies. This is politic. By this, Grupo EmpreZa’s poetic research has its interests in the use of the body of the performer, as a political sign in its relations with the immanence and the externality; and in the relations of a body with other bodies, of a meat with other meats (people’s and thing’s).
