My work approaches two very specific issues: Bringing visibility to what is not visible, and how our body relates to what apparently has no physicality. During my career, I have tried ways of shaping forces, the spaces and the seemingly invisible structures. The search for this universe of what is hidden or ignored leads me to flirt with different supports and plastic constructions. Therefore, drawing, painting, video production, and objects not only connect with the aesthetics of architecture and engineering design, but also with the visual representations of fields such as the exact and biochemical sciences.
My interest is not limited only in the power of the unknown – or what is known only by its effects – but also by images that materialize these hidden structures. Endoscopies, X-rays or even white noise can exemplify. My research is also curious about the forces that surround us, cross and invade our bodies. Dust, sound, electromagnetic waves, the supernatural, and everything about what is speculated: These are a few reasons that drive my work.
The relationship between these forces and resistance to them has been the subject of recent works. How these relationships generate voltage spaces? How do they represent social and political contexts within my daily life? The creative process also investigates this uncertain reverse about what is clear. In this context, I develop my work in an unheard-of reality, sometimes much more “real” than the one we are used to seeing.
