Patrícia Teles is an artist-researcher and professor at the Department of Arts at UFRN (Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte). She works with performance, theater, video, self-portraits, GIFs and participatory installations. She uses her own body as a medium for experimentation and is interested in autobiographical narratives, ‘low technologies’ and Latin Americanities.
In 2019 she participated in the II Vera Brant Award (Brasília-DF) and crossed South America by land, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, to be part of the exhibition SACO 8 – Destination in Antofagasta in Chile. In 2018 she held her first solo exhibition, ‘Betta Aquarium’, at Galeria Espaço Piloto (Brasília-DF).
She holds a PhD in Art and Technology (University of Brasília), a Master in Combined Artistic Lenguajes (Universidad Nacional de las Artes -Argentina) and a Bachelor in Theatrical Direction (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro).
