Tertuliana Lustosa is a visual artist and writer. Starting from the concept of an unspecific site, a kind of subversion of the site-specific that has a character of inadequacy, undefinition, that bothers the order and destabilizes hierarchies. Her works articulate popular and erudite art, orality and written word, body and action, the circuit of visual arts and other fields (cinema, literature, medicine, fashion, television…), through different artistic languages: woodcut, sculpture, painting, object, installation, video art, rehearsal, letters… She graduated in the History of Art course at UERJ. Born in the city of Corrente, raised in Salvador and in Teresina, Brazil.

She was a member of the Written Trans (Escritos trans) workshop at COART / UERJ, having started as an art teacher in 2015 at PreparaNemRJ, a pre-college entrance exam for LGBT people with a focus on the population T. She published the “Trans-terrorist manifester” in Connnitas Magazine’s, the essay “The Legend of the Dairy Trap” in Periodicus Magazine, number 8, 2017 and the artist’s essay “Waterfront Storytellers: The Head of Cuia and Other Stories of the Piauían Sertão” in Concinnitas Magazine, number 33, 2018, in addition to the story “The narrator of Xangô” in the book “Tertúlia” by Ágrafa Editora and the novel PLAY BOI, by Editora Other Literatura.
Participated in the collective exhibitions: “the bodies are the works” (2017) in Despina with the works Sertransneja (partnership with Matheusa Passareli and Collective Xica Manicongo), BAFO 1 banner and CorrenteMILK, and “The resumption of the image will be the presence” (2018) in the Oriente Gallery, with the works Bandeira BAFO 1 and Sextilha, qualidade de cordel, Oxaguian, qualidade de Oxalá. She performed the Corpo performance in a straight line at the Odylo Costa Filho Theater in 2015 during the event “FESTFIC 2015” and in 2018 during the “Half Sahara”, performed Unha-Corrente for the first time together with the Colectivo Seu Putos in an aesthetic- (2015), then at the UERJ Institute of Social Medicine, at the DEI Puta (2017) and then at the UESPI campus in Corrente (2017). He also exhibited the works Dildo-arma first in partnership with the Coletivo Seus Putos in the exhibition “Vanguarda Japonesa” (2016) in Paço Imperial and in the exhibition “ZoNa” (2017) in Es Uma Maluca. The performance Manifesto traveco-terrorista was carried out in the program “We, the fashionistas” of Dudu Bertolini in TV Fashion, with clothes signed by Fernando Cozendey (2017). The works E(X)U Cabeça de Cuia and Narradores de beira-rio were exhibited during the “DESILHA” event at the Helio Oiticia Municipal Art Center (2018), Hand-story at the “Non-binary Festival” (2018), at the UERJ Arts Institute and 150 batidas por minuto at Quadra Raizes da Tijuca during the VMLH event (2019). The performance Cuceta in partnership with Sara Elton Panamby unfolded in a short of the same name and has already circulated the following spaces: Cinema Kuir, in Despina (October 19, 2017) – RJ; Festival 6 Continents, at the Cinema School Darcy Ribeiro (October 20, 2017) – RJ; Anormal Festival (October 28, 2017) – MEX; Filmes Transviadxs, at the Cinema Odeon (November 15, 2017) – MA; Pão na Chapa (November 18, 2017) – RJ; Mostra de dissidencias sexuais in MAM (November 28, 2017) – RJ; Transformation Film Festival (November 30, 2018)
