Pina departs from different social and historical contexts to explore the traces of the memory of violence and its inscriptions on violated and absent bodies. In this way, the legacy of oppression of patriarchy, colonialism and authoritarian regimes has been recurrent in her works to reflect on the forgetfulness of victims of violence and its purpose not only to dehumanize them, but also to destroy their identities, their names and their memoirs. In addition to the absent bodies that have suffered from constant erasure, Pina also explores the absence and disappearance of the body in performance by performing actions without the presence of an audience and that leave only traces of the body’s passage.
